Call Your Members of Congress Today and Tomorrow to Prevent Harmful Cuts

Sequestration cuts deadline starts March 1st.  As part of the Fiscal Cliff deal Congress and the White House delayed putting the sequestration/cuts into effect until March 1.  Automatic cuts will be roughly 5% to child care, Head Start, K-12 programs, WIC and other programs.

It is important to understand that these cuts will cause serious damaged to children and families as well as to the education workforce for example 70,000 children will lost Head Start and Early Head Start enrollment, 30,000 children will lose child care assistance, 600,000 children and mothers will lose WIC and many other programs on the chopping block.

Join me by acting now to call and/or email your 2 Senators and your Representatives (Senator Kay Hagen, Senator Richard Burr, Congressman David Price)  and share these bullet points
    • Sequestration is the wrong choice --nation’s economic and societal health,
    • Reducing the deficit should not penalize basic needs of low- and moderate- income families, and
    • These cuts set back children’s healthy development and learning.
Let your voice be heard!
